My Day
My Day
The day started out with rain pouring, and lightning striking across the sky. It was a rather nice day in my opinion, being this is my favorite type of weather. Outside it seemed as if it was cold, but once I stepped out my door I realized it was nice and warm. Rain was constantly falling, and thunder was as loud as a freight train. All the leaves were covered in droplets of water, some dripping off the sides. Everything smelled of rain, and the whole scenery around me was beautiful. I could hear the rain pounding on my roof similar to hammers hitting nails. It was loud, but I loved the sound. Since I was admiring the weather, it was now 8:30 in the morning. I decided to look up the weather forecast for today, hoping it was going to rain all day. The grass and trees needed rain badly, because we haven't had so much in so long. The weather popped up on my computer, and luckily the rain was supposed to fall all day. The weather also said there was a severe thunderstorm warning for today, but I assumed I already saw the worst of it.
My dog has finally woken up because I was banging pots and pans around. He waddled out into the kitchen, sitting by my feet waiting to be fed. I gave him a peanut, then walking over to get his breakfast. My dog, Buddy, was a rather spoiled dog. But then again, that's my fault. As he went over to eat, I had to decide what I was going to eat. My parents were out of town for the week, so it was going to be quiet around the house. I found some eggs in the fridge, and cooked two in a frying pan that was in the dishwasher. Buddy has already sucked up his breakfast like a vacuum, but that wasn't unusual. He was begging at my feet, because he smelled the food cooking. I took the eggs off the pan, and put them on a Christmas plate that my Mom never put away from last year. Nothing we really needed out at the time. Walking over to the dining room table, I forgot my water. I set the plate down on the table, going back to the kitchen. I grabbed a cup of water, then hearing a crashing noise.
Running back to the dining room, I had found Buddy lying under the table, wagging his tail. My breakfast was gone, and the plate was broken in half. On the floor. So, since Buddy has now had two breakfasts, he'll probably need to go outside. I threw out the plate, and it's a good thing that it wasn't a nice one. It was still raining, even harder now. The thunder had died down, along with the lightning. Opening the door for Buddy to go outside, he ran outside. I shut the door, then walking over to the fridge to find another breakfast for me. I reached in to grab a cheese stick and an apple. Better than nothing, I guess. Buddy was clawing at the glass door, soaking wet. I grabbed a towel from the hallway closet, and ran to let him in. I dried him off, but right in the middle of me doing that, he had to shake. When he did, water went everywhere. On my clothes, the walls, and all over the floor. He was like a mop for rain water, I swear. I soaked up all the water, and dried it up from the walls. Today was going to be a clumsy kinda day.
I was just sitting down to watch some movies, but then the phone rang. I searched all over the living room for the phone, and the living room wasn't even that messy. I found it in the crack of the couch, and answered. All I heard at first was just rain water, and thunder. But then my Mom picked up the phone. The reasons she called was to check in on me and see how Buddy was doing. I heard my dad in the background trying to figure out how to turn off the GPS. It was actually pretty funny. They had both just gotten down to Detroit, and it was nice and sunny there. My mom explained that when they were driving down they saw a cow in the road, and my dad had a good laugh about that. They were unpacking in their hotel room at the moment, so she had to go. Now, back to the living room to try and watch some movies.
When I walked into the living room, lightning lit up the room, and Buddy was on the couch. Right where I was going to sit. I pushed him to the side a little, he got up, stayed on the couch and layed right onto my lap. Let me remind you he is an 102 pound dog. A German Shepard at that. I grabbed the movie "Ouija", because it seemed like the right time to be watching a horror movie. Well, maybe not. The thunder was so constant and loud that I had to turn the movie up a couple times. Once the movie was over with I noticed Buddy was asleep, drooling on my leg. I'm surprised he fell asleep when all I did during the movie was jump at the more shocking parts. Now it was about 10:20 in the morning and the sun was shining, but still raining. I checked the weather on my iPod, that was about to die. I had to go to my bedroom to get the charger, but Buddy was still sound asleep. So I stayed there, looking at the weather. When I looked, the weather channel described the rain was going to calm down, along with the storms. At least we got a good amount of rain.
I tilted the chair back, so I could take a nap. Buddy got woke up, but he stayed. I cuddled up with him and grabbed a blanket from the floor right next to me. I covered myself and with the extra blanket left, I covered Buddy. He was sort of restless now, moving his paws every once and a while. After he got comfortable, I was petting him, and then rubbing his stomach. I scratched his ears, and soon enough, he was snoring. The phone rang, but I didn't bother getting it because the phone said "Toll Free Call.." It woke Buddy up, but just enough to startle him. So ignoring it, Buddy calmed down and went back to sleep. Soon enough I was going to do the same. I rested my head on a pillow right near Buddy's back, and got situated. I was comfortable, and I believe he was too. We both fell asleep to the sound of light raindrops hitting up against the window.
When I woke up, it was nearly 4:00pm, I must've been tired. Buddy was in the same spot, but he was awake. When he realized I was up, he licked my face. He must've wanted a treat or something, or to go outside. I got up, and he followed me out to the kitchen. He kept walking until he got to the dining room closet, which is where we keep his dog treats. I decided to give him a breath stick, which helps his bad breath. Simply because it's terrible, but he still eats them because he thinks it's a special treat. He ate it right away, then laying down. I decided to make some late lunch because it's in between lunch and dinner. I looked through the kitchen cabinets, finding some macaroni I could cook pretty quick. I boiled the water, and cooked everything, and occasionally I dropped something but Buddy was right there to pick it up. When I was eating, Buddy, again, was begging for food. I didn't give him anything, but I did give him another treat.
The phone rang again, and it was my Mom. All she said was that they were back in their hotel room, and the weather is really nice. But still, up here at the house it was kinda rainy, and gloomy. As I talked to her, Buddy was standing by the door to his fence so he could go outside. I let him out, and still talked to my Mom. My Dad and her were going to dinner early, so they could get back to the hotel and sleep. They had a long drive downstate, so they need to rest. It's better they go to bed early and get up early than go to bed late and get up late. When my Mom was leaving to go to dinner, she said she'd call me tomorrow morning. I let Buddy in, dried him off, and he laid down in his crate. I went to give my hamster's new water, and more food. They were spinning on their wheels, which is pretty loud. I fed my fish, and watched them swim around for a while. Buddy was in the living room now, so I might as well go watch some t.v.
When I turned on the t.v., the first show that popped up was Tornado Chasers. That's the last show I wanted to watch with the weather similar to that today. It took me forever to find a show I wanted to watch. I scrolled through the channels for a while, until I found a good show, Cupcake wars. Pretty entertaining show, too bad I couldn't cook like that. It seems kind of funny when the judges are scoring their cupcakes, I don't know why. Most of the food they bake looks really good, too. But anyways, it was getting late, and time went by fast. I was really tired but I didn't want to mess up my sleep schedule this time of the year. Buddy was asleep on the floor, which doesn't surprise me. It seems like he's always sleeping or barking. I wish my life was like that. He was snoring, and his feet were twitching, so he was probably dreaming of chasing a leaf or something. Knowing him, he probably thought he actually was.
I turned off the t.v., gave Buddy water, and got a blanket from the living room. I decided to sleep in the living room tonight with Buddy, simply because my room was getting kinda boring. It's always light inside, and the hamsters are spinning on their wheels. I found a pillow from my room, and it was my favorite pillow. It had green and black threads on the outside, and in the inside it had a cat and mouse stitched on it. The background was also green and black. I layed down next to Buddy, and woke him up. I covered myself with my blanket and again, I covered Buddy with the extra. The blanket didn't cover my feet, so I kind of curled up next to Buddy. He fell asleep, and it was going to be hard falling asleep next to him with all that snoring. But the rain had stopped, and it smelled of pine needles. Light was shining in through the windows, but just very faintly. It was getting dark, and late. I turned on some music, and went right to sleep.
