About four years ago my mom got diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. It was hard, I could hardly sleep, I was scared, I just wanted my mom to be better again. We used to cook together, go to the zoo together, go to the WWII airplane museum together, now she can hardly walk without groaning in pain. She is strong, she never gave up hope, and she never stopped trying to make my brother and I happy.

My mom had a surgery that would be overnight. She would have to stay in the hospital for three days, so my brother and I would have to stay the night at my aunt's house, so she took us to my aunt's house then went straight to the hospital with my grandpa. My cousins are usually really mean to me when we go there on the weekends and that night didn't change anything, i'm the oldest of all of my cousins so I was always alone while my brother and two cousins were outside having fun. It was hard that night, I could hardly sleep, I was scared, I just wanted to be with my mom.

I wanted to go and visit my mom in the hospital even though she said we shouldn't. I just wanted to see her, make sure she was ok. When we arrived at the hospital the nurse lead us to her room and I saw the most horrible sight, a sight that will haunt me i'm my dreams for the next year. She looked miserable, she looked like she hadn't slept in days, there was several machines that were hooked to her, every time a machine beeped or made a sound I jumped. Just looking at her made me sad. We spent an hour and a half with her, when we left I sat next to the fountain and cried wondering if I would ever see my mom again.

One year later in october my family heard the best news we will ever hear, my mom was cured from cancer. My uncle came out from Minnesota and our whole family went out to diner at whatever place my mom wanted. Throughout this whole journey my mom stayed strong and never gave up hope.
