untitled
When I’m with you I feel safe. I feel safe and protected by more than mighty muscles and a tall frame. I feel protected by your warmth. Like a bundle of blankets surrounding me when we embrace in a hug. Snuggled within the arm of your sweatshirt. The sweatshirt that was handed down from generations before. Grey and thick, speckled with rainbow colored droplets of paint. Warn in fabric, rips along the cuff, as if it has lived it’s own life. These imperfections are what I love.
I feel protected by your structure. A crisp steel-blue colored polo button down, paired with freshly pressed warm colored khakis. A cold metal chain with a cross pendant hanging from your neck, reminding me that your love goes far beyond me. I feel protected by your smell. Your smell that makes me remember the first day we met. Rich and minty. The feeling of falling asleep in your borrowed sweatshirts covered in this smell, making night's easier.
