Summary:
Valerie and Serena Van Houten, two teenaged pariahs in the small town of Hatfield, receive a letter that they believe to be regular chain mail. A practical joke, perhaps, to freak them out. Yet, the letters keep on coming and the stakes reach new heights.
Who is this Clarentine the Clown that keeps threatening to visit them? How does he end up getting into their house, the house that has isolated them from their community for as long as they know?
