We live in a country where each one us has a dream. Our dreams keep us going day to day. Our dreams are the goals we try to reach closer to each step we take. Though, our dreams may be little, out of this world, or even impossible those dreams are our dreams . But the American Dream is what we all strive for. The American Dream can be defined in many ways. Some people may say that the American Dream is to live in a two story house with a red roof top and a white picket fence, but there is more to the American Dream. The American Dream is the idea of a more luxurious lifestyle where everyone can have freedom , opportunities to achieve more, as well as working hard to achieve the position a person would desire. The luxurious lifestyle consist of no worries on the needs as well as the wants a person desire is taken care of.

One reason a person leaves the place they originated from is to be able to have more freedom. Even though the United States may have limits to their freedom, there is the freedom in what you can believe in. Most Americans tolerate new ideas.“Here individual of all nations are melted into a new race of man, whose labors and posterity will one day cause great change in the world.” ( De Creveceour) The author is trying to say that even though the people who came to America had different backgrounds and cultures they can be civil with one another to create a new nation. Also by working hard with one another, help create a new nation which immigrants can break down stereotypes and begin to united as Americans, such as being able to show that people can be more open to the idea of blending different cultures and accepting peoples' beliefs. The idea of being able to have freedom to live in a society where people are able to understand one another is a luxurious quality because in some countries the idea of freedom in being an individual is looked down upon. This shows part of the American Dream where people are able to have freedom because people become more opened to new ideas and culture that majority of people are more opened and accepting. This way more people who seek out freedom to be who they want to be makes their stress on what society want them to be not as challenging for them. This makes their life more luxurious because people searching for the American Dream don’t have to worry about what people think of them.

A way to achieve a luxurious lifestyle, a person must take on the opportunities that are given to them. “An American is anyone who loves life enough to want the best that is has to offer.” (Hudgin) The author is trying to say that an American is someone who believes that they should have the best in life. Americans love to take advantage of opportunities so they are able to have the best in life. There are a lot of opportunities that are given to those who want to achieve more in life. Many opportunities such as a better education and the chance to get a job that will provide more are opened for those who seek out the American Dream because they will work at the opportunities until they achieve it. Many people come all over to the world from different places to be able to embrace the opportunities that the United States could offer to them. Most of the time people take the opportunity to gain more than they had before due to them wanting to achieve something that will go towards the American Dream they want. An example of this idea is that people leave their country to escape the issue of poverty so they can have the opportunity to get a better education to be able to get a better job. The more opportunities a person embraces the more beneficial it will be to them because they will be able to have connections to people who have a achieve their American Dream to have a luxurious lifestyle.

Working hard is the key to being able to live in a luxurious lifestyle. De Creveceour even said in his essay What is an American “Ubi panis ibi patria” which is translated to “where my bread is earned, there’s my country.” The author is trying to say that working hard will pay off because when you work hard, you earn the things you want. The harder you work, the better things you will earn. Also the place where you work so hard is also your home. This shows that in the American Dream the achievements a person have accomplished gets them the finer things in life as well as making a place for the person to call home. The more effort a person puts into their American Dream helps them to have a more luxurious lifestyle because in the end, hard work will be worth all the effort a person has put towards their achievements. Most people in our society work their butt off to make something of themselves. Most children today work hard to be able to live a pampered lifestyle in the near future. Kids work hard to be able to get accepted to college, where they can work even harder to get their dream job so they can achieve the American Dream. Hard work is part of the American Dream in order to live a comfortable lifestyle.
