"be kind to those who aren't kind to you"

boys are taught that if they cry they're weak. if they wear pink they're gay. so, they compress their feelings to avoid being called names like weak. they play video games and do sports even if they have no interest in sports or video games to avoid being seeing as feminine or weird. even if the reality of who they are isn't masculine they will still try their hardest to appear just like any "average boy". but this simply exhausts them. i can see it in some of my guy friends. that this is not who they are. they have feelings. just because you tell them to "man up" doesn't mean they do. just because you tell them to "be a man"' doesn't mean that when they go to bed that night they're not still hurting. so what's the point of saying it at all? "he"s weak" does not and should not ever apply to a boy in emotional pain. where something (like "he's/she's weak) can't apply to a girl, it shouldn't apply to a boy either.
