Something is Missing from the World
Something is missing from the world
Is it the summer breeze? For all leaves are still
Or perhaps the moon is strangely absent
The tides have lost their will
Something is missing from the world
The birds stopped singing, they are silent
No music graces the soundless air
All is hushed and quiet
Something is missing from the world
The sky has lost its blue, it seems
Every blade of grass is stripped of color
Along the dormant silver streams
No, something is missing from my world
A shred of light, a bit of song
For without the comfort of a candle
Joys appear almost wrong
