A midnight breeze trickles through the cold night sky
Its subtle tickle wakes no one in the Kingdom of Athol, but I
With a flick of my elongated scaly tail, I am wide awake
Staring out of the castle’s cold cast-iron gate
The light breeze smells faintly of a deceitful spy

For my job is to protect this ravishing kingdom
From all sorts of deceitful conniving and spiteful scum
I will do all that I can until the dawn of the very end
For my good-hearted, devoted, deserving king; dear friend
Proud to know without me devious and hated this kingdom would become

The courtyard is quiet; I let out a sleepy sigh
As I lay down my grave head, I remember why
I worship my place in the Kingdom of Athol with all my heart
As a midnight breeze trickles through the cold night sky
