The Rider
He looks as though he could not smile,
this man on horse back quite awhile
Into the rising sun he rides
With no companions at his sides
I asked if I could come along
I think perhaps he thought it wrong
I knew his heart and how he fell
I understood this very well
Perhaps someday he will come back
Make up for courage that I lack
But what’s the use of longing more?
I’m not sure what I’m waiting for
To chase a love that cannot be?
A whim that takes its hold of me?
Oh well, I guess I’ll never know
Although this man may love me so
