stout men with balding scalps, tedious personalities, and monotonous voices
attempt to establish an illustration of writing in our minds
they wholly believe that what they convey to us is essential
if we wish to remain afloat in the ship of writing and its countless principles
and it is
yet they do not tell us a vital and significant segment of writing
something that cannot be taught using excruciating essay assignments
with assigned topics
they do not mention in those droning voices of theirs that

writing is a state of mind

we are bombarded with rules and regulations
that must be followed with discipline when one is writing
we are hit in the head with clarifications of onomatopoeias, hyperboles
and other such outlandishly large words describing different aspects of writing
we are continuously told that when writing, we must focus
they may occasionally hint that the juicy ball in our heads called the noggin
should be used when writing
(specifically the portion called the imagination)
however
we are not told that

writing is a state of mind

yes
writing is
something people suffering from misery and isolation turn to for joy
something people already swimming in happiness can indulge in
for they may wish to cling to the feeling of bliss
writing is not just a pen and paper buried in rules that we must follow
in order to remain sturdy in the field of literature
why, look at me
I am certainly nowhere close to J.K.R or young Stephanie
yet by following my own principles and putting out of mind grammar
for a few mere minutes
I was successfully able to portray in this very poem that

writing is a state of mind

so, for once in your short-lasted lives
don’t stare with fatigued eyes into that blank paper for hours
with the constant excuse that you are “thinking”
for that is impossible
as wise, old Forrester once said
“Don’t think. Just write. The thinking comes later.”
so, instead of gawking into the vacant abyss of your lined paper for an eternity
for just one minute,
completely push out the few Grammar and Language rules
that actually planted themselves in your mind during those never-ending English classes
and write freely
(without a short, bald guy with a supposedly large IQ looming over you)
and keep in mind
please, for Literature’s sake, remember
that

writing is a state of mind

that is so true! those people say writing can only be a 'certain way', but it can be anyway. I would like to say to them these white strip lyrics "you don't know what love is, you just do as your told." only replace love with writing. cause writing isn't intresting if we do it all the same. my favourite part of this piece "is writing is something people suffering from misery and isolation turn to for joy" this si such a good piece! :)

You say you don't remember,
But I will never forget

I agree. Can you read some of my work? perhaps comment or rate also? I'd like to know your opinion on my writing.
