Summer Night

I gaze over the harbor every night and watch the moon come up.
I listen for the croaking frogs and the chirping crickets like you used to tell me to as a young girl.
I feel the light breeze of a hot summer night.
The water, it's so dark, the tiny waves push along the shore creating a serene noise.
The pungent smell of the swampy grass and dirty water never bothered me.
The moon begins to poke over the harbor and I soon know I will see the stars knowing you’re here with me.
