I wrote this poem about the reality of drugs and the likelihood of overdosing, my moms experiences as a PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care) nurse inspired me to write this. There have been several instances where she comes home and asks me to be cautious because she had yet another patient my age that was most likely going to die because of fentanyl. I hope that we can identify true issues that lead to experimentation and help youth understand the dangers of unexpectedly high doses of fentanyl.
