When I walked to my car in the dark cold fall morning,

I heard a noise that sounded like a deer whining.

I slowly walked toward that noise,

and found a deer lying on the ground,

and the deer was trying to get up

but couldn't.

I looked at him to see what was wrong.

It looked like he had been attacked by another deer.

I said to myself I think he's dying.

I wanted to help,

but I couldn't help.

I got up and slowly walked to my car

thinking about how I could help.

I was also running late to school so I had to go

and leave the deer behind.

I wanted to stay

but couldn’t.

I thought about the deer all day

wondering if it was still alive.

When I got home,

I checked on the deer.

I said to myself hopefully he's ok and still alive.

But he wasn't.

We get a lot of deer in our backyard every year in the summer and fall. They like to fight and play rough at times. When I was walking to my car I heard a noise at first and didn't know what it was but I was brave enough to walk toward the noise and found a deer lying on the ground. I felt bad for the deer because it was hurt and I didn't know if it would be alive when I came home from school. I am an animal person so seeing this deer hurt and pass away during the day made me sad. I think the deer fits with this theme because the theme is based on emotions and the deer sadly passed away. I formatted my piece the way I did because I got inspired by an example in class.
