"Numquam finitur, donec vita finiatur."
- K. D'Angelo Alexander

Who would’ve knew,

That I’d be the one who got you?

Who would’ve knew,

That one and one could not make two?

Who would’ve knew,

That it wouldn’t be Death, who did us apart?

Who would’ve knew,

That we were doomed, ever since the start?

Who would’ve knew,

That this poem wasn’t about loss?

Who would've known that my love would never stop?

That our love would be sweet, yet sour, like a lemon-drop?

Who could’ve known, knew, who could’ve thought?

The author's comments:

The usage of the verb "knew," instead of "known" is intentional, and not a mistake.

The poem is meant to convey the meaning of things that seem to be right, yet at a second glance, or after an experience, one finds that they are not.
