"Numquam finitur, donec vita finiatur."
- K. D'Angelo Alexander

As the sky dulls to grey,

And the trees lose their leaves

It's up to the Individual to say,

What they truly believe

Will the sky change back?

Is Darkness here to stay?

Will the flowers grow

Once again someday?

Harsh weather, the rain and snow do fall

These months can be the hardest,

The darkest of them all

But some retain their hope,

For won't Spring always come?

"It'll be posies, and roses, bloke"

Spoke the most worrisome one

Long, lonely nights, gazing up at the Moon

Longing for the Sun, hoping it will come soon

Quite some time after

Most of the weak had snapped,

Winter finally breaks,

With Spring's smile and laughter at last

The author's comments:

A poem for those who live in areas where Winter is an actual season.

I've lived in Washington for a couple years now, and have experienced it, but I was born and raised in California, where there wasn't really Winter.
