Grief's String
A deep, dark night,
A heavy grief so sharp, so bright,
The memory like a dagger’s string,
A Constant ache that never leaves.
A loved one’s face,
A smile that once had filled a space,
A heart that once beat, now silent,
A life that once was, now absent.
The pain’s immense,
A weight that never seems to lessen,
A longing that’s so hard to repress.
A loss that’s so hard to repress,
A loss that’s hard to digest.
The tears might come,
The anguish felt, each moment,
But the memory, it still remains,
And the grief, it never leaves.
