Wooden Prayers
these silver and wooden crosses all over the wall,
the holy beads hung on the deep, brownish hall
reminds me of my mother’s texan drawl
and why i feel so humble, at the end of it all
Jesus will never be forgotten
and our home’s white sheets of cotton
even when our souls are rotten
our prayers will be brought right in
