My grandma showed me who Elvis was, and told me how much she loved him. She mentioned he was also in movies, so I decided to watch Blue Hawaii. It seemed like an interesting movie and I wanted to know what it was about. 

This movie was released on November 22  in 1961. It is about Chadwick Gates (Elvis Presley) being discharged by the U.S army. He heads back to Hawaii, his home state. He finds a job as a tour guide for his girlfriend's agency they met through having rooms next to each other at a hotel. 

This movie showed me who the real Elvis was and how he was so popular back in the olden days. One of the best things it did was with the music.

The soundtrack is charming. Some of the music is slow and some of the music is fast and exciting.  My favorite song from this movie is “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, perhaps the greatest love song ever written and the best love song to listen and dance to at your marriage.it was the song my grandma and grandpa danced to at their wedding and they always tell stories about why they picked this song.  

My second favorite is “Island of Love.” It might bore the audience because of how slow it is and has hula, pop and jazz music genres in it.  Some lyrics from this song are “Lovely princess of the islands, Kauai, island of love, Listen, can't you hear her calling, Aloha welcome my love, Her palm trees gently do the hula.” I liked this song because it reminds me of being a little girl wanting to be a princess and live like one with my own song. 

The actors from this movie played their roles well. Elvis brought his own personality to the character of Chadwick Gates. Another actress I thought played a good role was Joan Blackman. She played the role of Elvis' girlfriend as Maile Duval. I liked this actress because she shows what true love is, how to fall in love with someone and explain your feelings to each other. 

In conclusion, I would recommend watching this movie Blue Hawaii, because it was a very interesting movie with Elvis Presley who was the main character. Also, the film is known for its catchy songs and the hawaiian scene showing the motivation force of romance and adventure.
