Tell me, was it worth it?

Was it worth it to ridicule those with whom you share the same species?

Was it worth it to make fun of that kid in your school for telling them what they believe is wrong?

Because the God that they believe goes against your “objective” non-objective beliefs?

Was it worth the time and effort to push them into practicing the same practices as you?

No, but it’s okay, tell me one thing.

Was it worth making fun of that one person in public for the food that they eat or what their cultural background is?

Because your race is the only “right” one out of the people around you.

Except your ignorance blinds you to the fact that you could be learning something new.

But answer something, was it worth telling the little girl the calories in a cookie?

Was it worth the upcoming years of fighting at the dinner table, her health complications, her malnutrition, her irritability, and was it worth damaging whatever food confidence she had left?

Was it worth pushing her into having food issues?

But it’s fine, keep defending yourself, because you never took the time to think of this one thing.

Was it worth taking advantage of the girl that you had considered yours?

Was it worth the arguments, bringing your fist to her cheeks that now sting, and was it worth acting like woe is you even though when you couldn’t take no for an answer?

Yet heaven forbid any same-sex couple have a healthy relationship.

So I hope that it was worth it.

I hope it is worth the hate you create that’s never up for debate.
