Waiting

I imagine him standing
outside his porch,
but there's nothing to see.

I'm just sitting here,
looking out my window,
wanting someone for me.

When there's grey skies,
nothing in the distance,
try to close your eyes,
maybe it'll all make sense.

I wonder if he's out there,
I wonder if I'll find her,
I wonder if that miracle,
will even occur.

Just waiting for,
a feeling I can't conceal,
someone to call my own,
something real.

I'd rather have my heart
break a million times
than never see
love ever shine.

He wrote true love
across the wall,
put quotation marks,
is it possible at all?

She didn't sleep that
night,
felt like wherever he was,
he wasn't doing alright.

When there's the night sky,
and you're alone,
sometimes you realize,
the clock turns to stone.

I wonder if he's out there,
I wonder if I'll find her,
I wonder if that miracle,
will even occur.

Just waiting for,
a feeling I can't conceal,
someone to call my own,
something real.

He packed his things,
walked down the hall,
she threw out her songs,
to forget them all.

There in the rain,
catching the same cab,
to escape the pain,
their eyes met,
ditched the yellow car
for a walk they'd never forget.

Just waiting for,
feelings I can't conceal,
remind me it's out there,
something real.

This was possibly one of the best songs I've ever written, and is very close to my heart, even if it is fictional.
