Sitting In the Dark

It is dark and the silence is sustained only by the constants
Grasshopper and arthropod brethren play their legs as if their phylum were Stradivarius
The midnight driver rides to an unknown destination at breakneck speeds
Vandal laughter is staccato to my audio devices
To the south an orange glow pervades the night sky
Oil spill of the cosmos
If a bat flew into the cities polluted sky would it come back in the same tint?
Watch the sun chase away the dark
The moon flees like a criminal
