Ode to Skin

Without skin
All your thoughts, feelings, and emotions
Are exposed
Without skin
Every bruise, cut, and burn
Would not heal
Its thick sap from a maple tree
Coating your body
Skin is like a your shield
What comes in and goes out
Is up to you
Skin is like mother nature
It never breaks down
The sun may burn it
But skin stays strong
It may feel like its been stripped from your body
But its been there all along
So say
Ode to skin
Always protects
Never exposes
