"a poet doesn’t fear
abandonment
take a slice of me when you go
and i will write myself better"

i observe it all
through a lens

the breathless whispers and
spotlights illuminating
every space, every stage

those poor players who
walk in shadow rattling
off soliloquies

eloquent and chaotic, yet
signifying absolutely nothing

i observe it all
through a lens

my eyes filtering colors
and fitting dull shades to a
new spectrum

the pixilated masks and grainy
smiles waxing into something only
semi-convincing

i observe it all
through a lens and...

i've found that
sometimes, second chances
just don't work

In necessariis unitas, in dubiis libertas, in omnibus caritas.

I really like the subject matter of this one and the way you describe the things you photograph. I especially like the second and third stanzas. Brilliant metaphor. I had trouble understanding the main theme though, and I think you could've tied the last stanza in with the rest of the poem to make it really good.
