ten shades

Ten shades of nausea…
That barbed wire feeling
scraping down my ravaged back…
Every other minute, vomiting into
this cold metal bucket by my side…

Died! Died!
I CAN’T BELIEVE I DIED!

.

Ten shades of jealous
because I did this for you.
And I did this for you
but you never died.
YOU NEVER DIED.
But you always lied.
And you always lied.
You lied.

And the ringing in the ears,
and the burning in the lungs,
but I can’t stop running!
They’ll get me!
They’ll get me!!

And I can hear them…

..

fast approaching…
Fast approaching!
And I can feel their steps approaching!

Ten shades of darkness.
But I don’t want the darkness!
I don’t want the darkness!
DON’T LET THE DARKNESS TAKE ME!

Draw the shades, love.
I think you’re letting the light in…

This is actually a spoken word piece, but I've been told it works alright as a simple poem...

I love this poem, the emotions in it are enough to knock you over, they just scream from your writing. Great job. ZERO
