"The heart has its reasons which reason does not know." -Pascal, Pensees, 1670

{A Villanelle} Written on Monday, August 3, 2009

Under the moonlight, hearts leap with a kiss,
No dictionary hold words to express,
Such bliss is this.

Within night's abyss,
The thundering of my body is impossible to suppress,
Such bliss is this.

Hands are laced as we reminisce,
Voices whisper like the memories we address,
Under the moonlight, hearts leap with a kiss.

Elation, impossible to miss,
From laying in the grass, results a wrinkled dress,
Such bliss is this.

Fireflies dance within the heats hiss,
As words become a game's guess,
Under the moonlight, hearts leap with a kiss.

With our hearts in each others hand and worries amiss,
Passion is professed.
Under the moonlight, hearts leap with a kiss.
Such bliss is this.

&quot; If one will scoff at the study of language, how, save in terms of language, will one scoff?&quot; - Mario Pei<br /> &quot;I write for the same reason I breathe - because if I didn&#039;t, I would die.&quot; Isaac Asimov

I've read about these poems, they're so cool, but I've never tried one. Really well done, it follows a jumpy line, as if you're actually there. Really descriptive. Love it!
