I Know
Is a girl allowed to be loved?
Can she cry?
Get excited when the sun comes up?
Get sad when it goes down?
I laugh at someone laughing at me!
He laughed at me, and I smiled.
It was a smile of love, but he never KNEW that he loved me too.
We had so much fun,
Summer nights, and stupid jokes;
The promise of ice-cream in place of a good-bye.
And while I fell in love, I KNEW.
The watefalls shone in his eyes...
So bright that I forgot he didn't KNOW.
I didn't want it to end, I could have been blind and seen his heart,
It was there, I KNEW.
Feeling loved was like seeing the sunrise.
KNOWING I had to let go was like seeing it set.
