Shepherd Girl MAG
Shepherd Girl
All the other sheep were jumping off the cliff
and stupid me
decided to also. It wasn't until halfway
down, that I decided
I shouldn't have jumped.
We drifted there,
falling like metal, hitting
not very hard but enough to dent.
Too bad I didn't have someone to break my fall.
Awkwardly I stare in the mirror,
trying to talk myself into
the falsity
that mirrors lie.
Thinking I was unharmed
and believing I looked fine
I went around the pasture chomping on
habitual lies and phony smiles.
I would rather be the page boy, than one
only showing love in the mirror.
