When She Glides MAG
A butterfly,
and with the fluttering
of lasting, slender arms
comes a breath of spring
Skims between every other
sunbeam peeking through obsolete
winter clouds;
she claps her blue-green hands,
reflecting her colors
as a rainbow blends
with this darkened earth.
And her every movement
in the new, airy sky
wakens the land -
sharp blades of grass and
hardened oaks
stretch to meet
the shadow this lovely creature
casts
when she glides
to cradle the world in her beauty.
