   Sunrise has come and gone

And so have you

You left at first light and I watched you leave

Just as I've watched you go down in your flames

Burned by your own fire

You played Russian Roulette with philosophies

And you gambled away your soul bit by bit

The poker chips stained your hands red as blood

Now your once starry eyes are only half-lit

The ashes grow cold and drift away on the wind

And you cry because you can't slice the soup in your bowl

The improbable happens every day

The impossible just once a week

But you want different miracles

And you want different gods

When I hold you close

You say "I'm yours for the taking"

But when I skate out

I can hear the ice breaking

When I look into your eyes I see

I see Hell's point of view

When we whisper our dreams I know

That I talk with the damned

And I want to drive the stake

Right through your heart

As you've done to me

You can't pick and choose your miracles

You don't know anymore what to believe

So I lie here with your shadow

And I watch you leave
