Corner of the Room
Look out at the party
Beyond the jesters and harkquin girls
Fight past the crowd
And look around…
There’s a corner of the room just for me
Don’t believe what you hear, they’re all just plastic
Look a little closer
Just muscles and elastic
The Barbie’s and the kens
They’re all so perfect
But I’m not the one to talk just to mock
I’m the only one not in costume
Please take off your mask
But I’ve tried to say that before
And it never lasts
Maybe you’re different
I don’t know
Fight past the crowd
Look around…
There’s a corner of the room just for me
Up against the wall
Hands in pockets
Eyes on the floor
They can all laugh
When I speak in monotone
They just don’t know
What it’s like to feel so alone
Fight past the crowd
Look around…
There’s a corner of the room just for me
I hope they can read this
And think what they will
Because for me
Time always stands still
I hope this makes a difference
I honestly don’t know
To them this could just be a amphigory.
Fight past the crowd
Look around…
There’s a corner of the room just for me
