Alone In This World
She sits and she bears,
their wretched glares,
like a withering plant in the sun,
The old butterflies gnaw,
her stomach till it's raw,
and she smothers her heart's cries again,
It's time to let go,
off the edge goes her toe,
and she plunges out of this hell,
No holding back now,
no reason, no how,
she releases her demons and fears,
With her soul, she now flies,
all those stupid little ties,
with mankind have been snipped and blacked out,
So she floats in the skies,
joyous tears in her eyes,
oh how nice to be weightless again,
But sometimes when the stars,
are by gloomy black charred,
she can still feel hope leaving Earth,
And though her heart aches,
good excuses she bakes,
because she's not going through that again.
