Untitled MAG
One blackbird sat upon a limb
A' singing his favorite song
Another flew down next to him
And said, "There's something wrong."
He cried, "I've flown a hundred miles
Above the shining sea
All through the woods and Around the isles ,
No one was there but me.
I flew above the arid plains
And ice north near the Pole;
Though wells and troughs were filled by rain.
I saw yet not a soul.
The animals have disappeared
The humans gone away
There are no children's cries to hear
No words are left to say.
How glad I was to find you here,"
Sighed he, "I felt alone.
But now I know I have you near
And won't be on my own."
At length the first bird stared at him
With darkness in his eyes
And as the setting sun grew dim,
He flew away to die.
