Only Hours
Only Hours
The frost melts on the flowers
Reminding me, I have only hours
The sun glistens on the trees
Petals float in the breeze
And I still have only hours
The sun the night slow devours
I look out, I have only hours
The moon is rising, slowly rising
Together all of the stars in the sky sing
Singing, singing, “Only hours”
In the corner a mouse cowers
He, like me, has only hours
Only hours left to dance
Only hours left to prance
And hours make days, and days make weeks,
And weeks make months, which make years,
Decades left to live
But break it down
That’s only hours
