Alive
Alive
Maybe I came too late
To ask for your forgiveness
But in the slight chance
That I am early
Let me appeal my case
I found your heart
Locked inside the chest
In the attic on that day
December 23
Almost still
The faint beating movement
Gave me hope
Let me feel your cry for help
And I reached out for it
I hugged it close,
Felt it begin to beat faster
I walked down the stairs
Into your light devoid room
And I reunited the two
The body and the heart
Now you can feel the pain
And the love,
In my heart
Forgive me for this folly
The double-edged sword of love
That compelled me to
Wake your heart
And show you
What it’s like
To live.
