These words I etch into this page,
Are mine alone and mine to say,
The writing here in these lines,
Through the dark escapes a ray.
Nothing left to hide,
Feeling true and emotion raw,
Tells the tales of who I am,
And what I saw.
Do not cower, do not hide,
These truths will surely testify,
And in my heart I wish I could,
But none of these I do deny.
Feeling safe and loved,
These words will shine.
Telling my whole life,
These little words of mine.
