A vast plain stretches before me
In neverending glory
And I know that I must walk
until it ends

By that time, I’ll be long dead
I’ll have no love
no fear, no hate
But I won’t be going home…
No, I can’t go home.

I’ll walk forever
these sands of mine
But I can see now –
forever’s not such a long time.

It doesn’t matter where I turn.
I’ve got one way to go.
Mournful tears for dying skies
I know.

I’ll walk straight,
stand tall and proud…
I’ll show no love, no fear,
But I won’t be going home.

I’d ask a question
but it’d never be heard.
Insanity would prove futile.

On this plain, there’s billions
and suddenly just me
But I’ll hold my head up just the same
and I’ll walk.

I have no destination
but still I have to go
I have to walk forever
to the end of eternity.

Even then, I can’t go home
forever…
No,
to the end of eternity…
I can’t go home…

eternity…
