Mirror; Broken

Cracked in a pattern like a breaking of a soul
The truthful mirror, fragments coming loose
Tiny pieces of glass in the mirror hole

Your handle is dark, charred by coal
You have no time for a truce!
Cracked in a pattern like the breaking of a soul

The tragedy that is your ordained role
That maiden and thee stuck in a deuce!
Tiny pieces of glass in the mirror hole

You show the world the coal, the gold
There was no reason for you to lose…
Cracked in a pattern like a breaking of a soul

She drew her hand, sent you a jolt
Then acquired a rope and tied her own noose
Tiny pieces of glass in the mirror hole

You were left shattered, a lunar-less whole
No more golden eggs from you, lovely goose
Cracked in a pattern like the breaking of a soul
Tiny pieces of glass in the mirror hole

I recycled this poem a lot, but I like villanelle version better...
