Love is not a feeling; it is a gift, an act, an ultimate sacrifice. -Me (Em)

My close friends love me dearly,
And of course I know they do.
But my parents love me even more,
And I know that to be true.

For who changed my yucky diapers
And soothed me when I cried?
Who woke up half-past midnight
To sing me lullabies?

Who worked those tiring hours
In order to provide?
Who'll love me when I marry
And until the day they die?

"My parents," says I, "until the day they die."

But who can love me deeper,
Past the day my parents die?

Whose love is like the great curved sky,
While my parents' is like a tuft of cloud,
Drifting, by and by?

"My God," says I.

Before birth, the Creator knew my name
And knit me in my mother's womb.
His love's like a moon that never wanes
Or a rose forever in bloom.

He was watching over me,
And heard those late-night lullabies.
'Twas He who made my father,
In order to provide.

He will love me when I marry
And past the day I die.
He will love me when I come to Him,
And with Him, reign on high.
