Oh my unnamed deity!
Think off-center
Not only do I not know what's going on but I wouldn't know what to do if I did.
I love to laugh

Hungry, wretched.
We are not beaten,
simply crushed.
We never get dry of pain.
We are fluid and dissolved,
one dripping, soaked, oily mass.
We are

s h a t t e r e d.
Child-like cries lash in the night,
sinking

painfully

into

silence..
then

comfort!

The smile of a friend dances
in a pool of yellow with spiral red streams.
Behind us lay rainy weeks, grey earth.
But we are saved.

at last,
we are saved.

The author's comments:
had to do a found poem for my english class, last year, based on the book "All Quiet on the Western Front," by Erich Remarque, I used chapter 11, pages 286-290 for this poem.
