What is Love?
Love?

 Descending down from high above
 I questioned an angel “What is love?”
 The angel answered with answers so insane,
 But they were all true and all were humane.

 “With knowledge of things of passion and desire,
 I say that love is like a fire:
 It burns with the intensity of a boiling ball;
 It grows and grows, and devours all.

 “With knowledge of things that scare and provoke,
 I say that love is like an oak:
 It stands strong against the raging storms;
 From the smallest seed this tree forms.

 “With knowledge of things so dim and bright,
 I say that love is like the light:
 Before it arrives, darkness shrouds the air;
 It lives in people filled with despair.

 “With knowledge of things so verdant and green,
 I say that love is like things unseen:
 You cannot see it before your very eyes;
 It shows when the moments dare to arise.

 “With knowledge of things so cruel and nice,
 I say that love is just like ice:
 It infects you with a disease with no known cure;
 It is water so fresh and very pure.

 “With knowledge of things of beauty and power,
 I say that love is like a flower:
 It may grow in the harshest of any weather;
 They look better united as one together.

 “With knowledge of things so bold and rash,
 I say that love is just like trash:
 It may cause distress, and it may cause pleasure;
 For one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

 “With knowledge of things so true and great,
 I say that love is just like hate:
 It spreads and spreads without relent;
 If you give too much you will surely repent.

 With knowledge of all things of truth and fate,
 I say that love does not discriminate:
 We all fall for love's graceful hand;
 We all hurt, cry, and understand.
