Divide me in two,
Discard the old,
Retain the new.
Unless the new
Shows black and blue,
Then trade the new
For the old, bold
And true.

The author's comments:
This poem can apply to any kind of personal change, but I wrote it for my own struggle with depression, and trying to overcome it, piece by piece.
