Your world
One day you’ll find yourself alone
In a town where no one’s home
You’ll turn your head to see who’s there
But what you’ll find is empty air
The world has knocked you off your feet
And you can’t fight what you can’t beat
You turn the corner you see my face
In this strange deserted place
You look up at me and see my tears
A sight that’s haunted you for years
You never thought you’d find me here
In a place from which you don’t reappear
And now you see my eyes shine black
A flash of light takes you back
You see my smile from years ago
A time you thought you’d always know
You pushed me down even though I cared
Just because you were scared
I pushed you back got under your skin
I was the game you could never win
Then you did what you said you wouldn’t
And I fired back knowing I shouldn’t
You watch me fight in the weeks that followed
With the pain and hurt I swallowed
So now I walk and leave you here
In a place made of what you fear
This is your world, you brought it alive
So now alone you have to try to survive
