No one expected her to be the one
To be attacked by this disease
That has taken so many
From the world in which they were brought into

It helps
But also brings her more pain
Crying Jags
Burning feet
Shedding hair
Failing skin

The citizen who
Spent most of her time
In the cold Oregon air
Is now in pain from jack frosts breath
Contacting her skin

Our prayers and the doctors treatments
Are our only hope
