The First Snow
My alarm sounds, as it does every morning.
I roll around to hit the snooze button.
As I come to life and my senses start working,
I realize there is something different.
It takes awhile for my eyes to adjust,
Then I realize how bright the light through my window is.
I get out of bed and walk over to see what has happened.
As I get closer to the window,
A huge smile breaks across my face,
For all I see is white.
On the trees, the ground, even the porch roof outside the window.
Everything is covered in snow.
What a wonderful way to start my day.
