Steam
As the wind creeps in
On a sunny day.
Filling everyone with hope,
But me.
The rain is so depressing.
A slight chill
Is bad enough.
I don’t like covering up
To fight the cold off.
You can still feel it in your bones.
Compare the changes.
Remember why I hate this.
The warmth is slipping away.
My better life is disappearing.
There’s no bright side to a cloudy day.
The steam is building up inside me.
The only warm thing.
These stressful memories are what I want to keep.
So what’s making it so cloudy outside?
I can’t go let out my anger.
Smoke.
Heavy, polluted, dark.
I can’t fight my way through.
Steam only rises,
Clear, light, refreshing.
As my teeth chatter,
My lungs shake,
I’ll thank the steam inside me,
Keeping me alive.
The sun only cries during winter time.
