Naissance
Dainty cherry blossoms are for sight;
 A blush that creeps through moss and evergreen,
 Pale pink pompoms herald nascent life,
 Wintry mist gives way to dewy scene.

 The beat of flighty rain is for sound;
 Mild one minute, the next, torrential
 Drip drop, splish splash, pitter, patter, POUND—
 A temperate rhythm with thrilling potential.

 Earthy loam and dampened grass is for smell;
 The crisp air lingers with each breath inhaled,
 Sweet scents as buds shed their fragile shells,
 Fragrances as yet stifled, now unveiled.

 Wondrous joys the coming season brings;
 The world welcomes
 The sights,
 The sounds,
 The smells,
 The senses of Spring.
