She’s walking on petals
as if they might break
making her way
still skirting her fate
She doesn’t yet know
that she’s over the worst
she doesn’t yet know
that she’s over the hurt
And she shouldn’t have to step so lightly
‘cause petals don’t break the same as shells
she always seems to tiptoe slightly
she’s unaware that she’s left her he**
Sill, she’s walking on petals
as if they might break
making her way
and skirting her fate
