One time, some Tuesday
On a hot July summer
This cool gal walked by
I wanted her number

Dame was light skinned
With her hair trimmed
Real short, dyed blonde
Her body was kind of slim
Tight shorts, thick hips
She likely got from mom

That made this shy guy
Hop out of his seat
Use his feet to chase beauty
Like he was racing another man
Walking down that same street
With the same exact plan

Although when I got close
To say hey what’s your phone?
She didn’t seem so appealing
Her cheeks no longer revealing

Being naïve and young
When she turned around
I asked for directions
Tensely biting my tongue
Making no other sound

She said walk two blocks
Move west then
Turn left on Wesson
You’re there in less than ten

I said thank you mam
Then quickly ran
Thinking I dodged a close call
With a chick I didn’t want at all

Day after day
Night after night
Up until next May
She hadn’t crossed my sight

This time she pulled up
By the store in a Mercedes
I was almost on all fours
Hoping she was still a single lady

Before a guy hopped out
Yelling hold on Hun
Right then I swallowed
My pride as I realized
I must stop being shallow
