My Heart Has Skipped a Beat

My heart has skipped a beat,
But my Soul is renewed—
I have met an angel.
Nay! I have conversed with God,
And it is all because of you
I am refreshed and cleansed of all grime—
All fears and sorrows have withered and fallen.
Indeed! I will live forever,
So shall my love for you,
Sin weeps in cold jealousy; he knows he may never have me again.
Now, as the hour approaches,
And Death smiles in filthy lust,
Oh! I will depart in Peace knowing that my Sweet
Has loved me, loves me, and will forever love me,
As I love her, to my dust
