Looking down upon me with disdainful scorn,
you know my flaws, my weaknesses,
my ambitions, my delights, my loves
You, my friend,
were once a part of me
wrenched apart by society
by unspoken rules I wasn’t aware existed
You accepted what you considered to be your fate
while I clung on,
refusing to believe you would give up on us so easily
But you did.
Sycophant fool,
you abandoned, you sucked up, you followed,
blinded by the hope of what you’d never known
